Parla is a Turkish / Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant soon opening in Island Bay. It is the younger, slightly quirkier sibling to Kisa, rooted in Anatolian warmth and bringing a bright energy to Wellington’s Island Bay community.

Guided by Middle Eastern flavours and premium New Zealand produce, Parla will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner Tuesday through Sunday in a relaxed suburban setting. Parla is an intimate space, seating just 38 guests, plus outdoor seating and a takeaway window.

We aim to bring energy, warmth, and a fantastic quality offering to Island Bay.

We are inviting applications for a wide variety of roles, including chefs of all levels, kitchen hands, front-of-house wait and bar staff, baristas and duty managers. This advert will close on the 12th May, at which point we will invite successful applicants to interview.

The positions themselves will not start until mid/late-June with the restaurant currently slated to open Tuesday 1 July.

You'll need to present the following:
  • Demonstrable skills and experience depending on the position you’d like to be considered for. For more junior positions, we may consider no or non-specific hospitality experience.
  • Relaxed, confident and positive attitude with high energy levels and resilience
  • Desire to learn and progress, assist other team members and communicate well with all our guests and wider network.
  • Happy to follow instructions and buy into a common goal of superb hospitality
  • Embody our values, be a genuinely good person who wants to come to work each day and contribute to a positive and supportive restaurant
  • Flexible availability across a six-day work roster. We can work around other commitments

You do not need experience in Middle Eastern cuisine.
