About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced registered nurses to take on the challenge of a senior nursing leadership role at the Wairarapa Hospital. You will join a professional and dedicated team, and be supported with an orientation programme into this role, as well as support for ongoing professional development.

There are casual positions working 0 - 80 hours per fortnight, as and when required. Applicants must be available at short notice to cover any shift, including weekends and nights.

About the Team

The DNM team works in partnership with other staff - clinical and non-clinical - to ensure the safe, efficient and effective running of the hospital. This includes ensuring appropriate transitions of care for the deteriorating patient, coordination of resource utilisation, and upholding continuous quality improvement and standards of nursing practice.

The DNM demonstrates and applies a high level of clinical expertise either directly or by coaching and supporting junior staff, particularly after-hours.

To be eligible to apply for this Casual position, you must be a New Zealand citizen or have residency or hold a permanent work visa

About you
  • Qualifications required for this position
  • New Zealand Registered Nurse qualification, including current APC.
  • Holds Level 6 NZRC, and APLS and Neonatal resuscitation, or undertake study to achieve.
  • Has achieved proficient level on the PDRP
