Advance Your Theatre Nursing Career in a Supportive Private Hospital

A private surgical hospital in Timaru is seeking an experienced Theatre Nurse to join their skilled and dedicated team. If you have at least five years of theatre nursing experience, including a minimum of one year in New Zealand, this is your opportunity to work directly with surgeons in a supportive, patient-focused environment that values work-life balance and professional growth.

What's on Offer?
  • Above public pay rates - $53.76/hr (for Level 7+), increasing to $54.56/hr from 1 June.
  • Monday to Friday schedule - No nights, weekends, or public holidays (Christmas, New Year, and Easter off)
  • Full-time and part-time positions available - Find a schedule that suits your lifestyle.
  • Diverse Surgical Experience - Work across orthopaedics, gynaecology, endoscopy, general surgery, ENT, urology, ophthalmology and dental surgery
  • Time to focus on patient care - Work closely with surgeons in a supportive, team-driven environment
  • Ongoing training and development - In-house education and funding for external training
What We're Looking For
  • Registered Nurse with NZ Nursing Registration and a current APC
  • Ideally 5+ years of theatre nursing experience, with at least one year in New Zealand
  • Experience in orthopaedics, gynaecology, and endoscopy (ophthalmology, urology, ENT, and other specialties are a bonus)
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
About the Hospital
  • High-quality private hospital - Modern facilities with three fully equipped operating theatres
  • Not a 'factory-style' environment - This hospital prioritises quality care over volume
  • Reinvestment in staff and technology - As a charitable trust, all profits go back into the hospital and community
Why Timaru?
  • Scenic, seaside location - A stunning coastal town with beautiful beaches and outdoor activities
  • Family-friendly environment - Safe, welcoming community with great schools and parks
  • Affordable cost of living - Housing is more budget-friendly than major cities
  • Stress-free commute - Spend less time in traffic, more time enjoying life
