Mō te tūranga - About the role
If you have been looking for a change of environment and a new opportunity to enter a health-related field or to use your existing Dental Assistant experience - then this opportunity is just what you've been waiting for!You will be responsible for helping to maintain the oral health of children in our region.
You will work alongside an Oral Health Therapist/Dentist as part of a supportive and friendly team who is committed to delivering quality health services for our tamariki.
This role is primarily based at Wakatipu, but also includes the wider Central Otago region.
This role encompasses a balance of clinical (chair-side assistance) and some administrative support. The key focus of this role is ensuring a safe and clean environment is provided for patients, staff and visitors through appropriate sterilisation, maintenance and cleaning.

You will be a people person who enjoys working with children, is culturally competent, and excellent customer service will come to you naturally.You'll have a pleasant telephone manner, strong administration skills and an awareness of the need for confidentiality of patient records and information. As part of a tight-knit, small team, you will be self-motivated with good organisational skills and be a participatory team member.
You will need to have the flexibility to be able to cover occasional rostered evening shifts. You will also need to be able to work in other clinics throughout the region; on occasion, this may see you staying away overnightIdeally you will have current experience and be working as a qualified Dental Assistant within a private practice or a hospital setting, however we are willing to train someone who has the right attributes, and who is willing to work towards a qualification in Dental Assisting.

Utu whānui - Salary range
This role belongs to the PSA Allied, Public Health Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 3 ($72,074 p.a) and Step 7 ($86,719 p.a pro-rata)
