-Disciplinary Team.Mō te tūnga | About theroleThe Child, Adolescent andFamily (CAF) Access Team receives and responds to non-urgent referrals/enquiriesfor CAF specialist mental health services & provides an emergency response,if required, with ability to deliver short-term follow-up for Tāngata Whaiora (youngpeople) and their whānau with an acute mental health concern.We are seeking someone whoworks well under pressure, communicates effectively and who has a background inMental Health.

It would be highly advantageous to have experience working with tāngatawhaiora and whānau, and an ability to deliver evidenced based treatments.

Youwill receive a comprehensive orientation to work across all clinical functionsof the team and on-going support and appropriate external training as required.Currently based at ThePrincess Margaret Hospital, soon to be moving, this friendly multi-disciplinaryteam have expanded to provide short-term treatment interventions for youngpeople who are referred to the service.

There will potentially be anopportunity to work in the short-term treatment team as your experience andskills base grows.We have one full timepermanent position available
  • operating from Monday to Friday during businesshours.
Pehea | About YouIn this role, you will beresponsible for:Phonetriaging of tāngata whaiora when in crisis, in conjunction with their family/ whānau;Providingcomprehensive psychiatric assessments and interventions to young people inpsychiatric crisis and brief case management if felt necessary bymulti-disciplinary team;Triagingroutine (non-urgent) referrals into our CAF services either via phone or attimes if necessary via assessment;Workingcollaboratively with external agencies striving for better health outcomes inour community.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako |Skills and experience:The abilityto effectively communicate and work collaboratively with tāngata whaiora & family/whānau , within the team and with other agencies;Preferably a minimumof 2 years mental health experience along with knowledge of general mentalhealth assessment or risk;Experiencewithin a Child and Adolescent setting and an understanding of child andadolescent development is advantageous;As sometravel is required in this position, a current NZ driver
  • s license isessential.Must beregistered with Nursing Council of New Zealand with current APC and musthave mental health scope.
