Machinery General - Edenham Farm - Napier
The Opportunity**
This is a great role if you enjoy working in a busy farm, with a diverse range of tasks. You’ll use your skills to support the team, working closely with the Farm Manager and Business Manager, you’ll take ownership of our forage cropping platform, fencing, and contributing to stock management/feeding and general farm duties as required.You’ll play a vital role on this high-performance farming platform.
Work on a progressive and diverse farming operation within a supportive team environment. You’ll be involved in key aspects of the farm’s operations, ensuring high standards of productivity, maintenance, and livestock care.
**The Farm**
Edenham Station is a 1,580ha effective grazing platform, 50/50 sheep/cattle ratio of breeding and finishing stock, dairy beef integration, cropping and production forestry.
The farm is a mixture of both flat and hill country which is based in Central Hawkes Bay, 20 minutes from Waipawa, 30 minutes from Havelock North.
**About You**
You’ll be a practical, hands-on person with experience operating and maintaining farm machinery as well as a sound skillset in fencing and general farm skills.
You’ll also have a good understanding of modern farming practices and a keen interest in both machinery and livestock management.
To be successful in this role, you will have:- Proven ability in the operation and maintenance of farm machinery and agricultural vehicles
- Knowledge of modern farming practices, particularly in cultivation and fencing
- Experience in infrastructure maintenance, including water systems, and general farm repairs
- A strong understanding of farm operations, livestock handling, and stock feeding
- A commitment to upholding high animal welfare, health & safety, and environmental standards
