Waipounamu Contracting is a family-owned contracting company in Northern Southland. We offer full-service sand blasting, panel beating and paint. This varies from touch ups, restoration to full repaints.
We cover but are not limited to vintage/classic vehicles and machines, trucks, boats, and everything in between.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting diverse position available for a shop assistant, this is a progressive role working alongside our paint shop manager and would suit someone wanting to learn from the ground up. Staff accommodation can be available throughout the week for the right person.
Duties include but are not limited to: Cleaning preparations for projects
Preparation for sandblasting and paintingSand blasting
Priming/undercoating
Stripping and reassembling projects
Welding and panel repair
You will need to have:- a positive can-do attitude,
- basic mechanical knowledge
- willingness to undertake and learn new skills.
- high attention to detail, preparation through to finish
- A full or restricted license is essential.
