Stratis Sailmaker Technician (Night Shift)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AND TASK
Technician
Collaborate closely with the Stratis Production and Operations Manager to ensure the efficient and continuous operation of Stratis machinery and equipment.- Perform repair, maintenance, and commissioning of Stratis equipment, adhering to established procedures, methods, and best practices.
- Assemble and install new or modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine modifications, and controls, including pneumatic systems.
- Assist the Stratis Engineer, Engineering Technologists and R&D team in the design, development, and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare technical procedures, plans, machine requirements, and designs for engineering work under the guidance of the Stratis Engineer.
- Document results, prepare service reports, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Organise and perform/manage routine inspections and preventive maintenance of all machines to ensure optimal equipment reliability, safety, and performance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities and finished works comply with technical specifications, Health & Safety regulations, and contract provisions.
- Manage proximity stock and spare parts effectively to reduce downtime and support uninterrupted production.
- Identify and respond to unplanned service repairs while maintaining high standards of equipment safety and performance.
- Proactively identify site risks and communicate them to the manager for timely resolution.
- Ensure adherence to and compliance with Health and Safety regulations, using company policies and resources to manage related matters responsibly.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, including the compressor room, workshop, and surrounding areas.
- Participate in relevant training and personal development programs to remain current with industry practices and emerging technologies.

- Trains new staff members.
- Reports to Stratis Floor Managers about production progress and ongoing
- Performs other production-related duties assigned by Stratis Floor
- Replace the glue drums if required.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- 3–5 years' experience in production or process-related work.
- Prior experience in a sailmaking facility is essential.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with hands-on experience in
- Ability to diagnose technical issues, manage unplanned service repairs, and implement
- Familiarity with Stratis machinery and related production equipment, as well as an
- Ability to manage spare parts, maintain proximity stock efficiently, and document service
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
