About the role

Forté is seeking a highly motivated, sales-driven Senior Showroom Sales Consultant with a proven track record of success to join our dynamic team in Grey Lynn. This full-time role is ideal for a confident sales professional with a flair for design, a proven track record of closing high-value deals, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.

You’ll take the lead in client consultations, guide projects from concept to close, and act as a mentor within the showroom team. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and product teams to elevate both the showroom and the customer journey.

You will:

  • Engage with all visitors to ensure a thorough understanding of their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Drive sales growth by managing your pipeline of work, converting opportunities, and smashing targets
  • Present showroom performance and project progress during weekly team meetings
  • Expand your professional network within the design and construction sectors to stay informed and influential
  • Maintain the showroom to the highest standards of presentation and organisation
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships with interior designers, and collaborate closely on projects
  • Lead showroom operations, ensuring seamless day-to-day activities

About you:

You are a polished and professional sales consultant who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. With a natural ability to connect and build rapport, you take pride in delivering outstanding client experiences and guiding customers through complex decisions with clarity and confidence. You will bring:

  • Several years of experience in high-value consultative sales roles
  • Background in a showroom or retail environment with a strong emphasis on face-to-face customer interaction and upselling
  • Familiarity with interior design, building materials, high-end retail as well as competitor products, emerging trends, and common objections
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and product aspects and translate them into clear benefits for customers
  • A results-driven mindset with a passion for exceeding ambitious sales targets
  • A keen eye for design and a love for helping people bring their vision to life
  • A calm, confident presence in the showroom, matched with the hustle to close deals
  • The leadership qualities to inspire, coach, and support junior team members
