CADS Home Detox Service - Te Whatu Ora, WaitemataPermanent, Full-time positionMonday to FridayBased in Point ChevalierCommunity Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland is looking for a full time Registered Nurse to work within their Community Home Detox Service (CHDS).
CADS is the largest alcohol and other drug (AOD) service in New Zealand working with over 15000 people each year. CADS offers free services to the community to reduce harm with substance use and to promote recovery and wellbeing. We accept referrals from healthcare and self-referrals via each CADS unit across the Auckland region, from people seeking support for their own or their family/whanau around substance use.
For more information about CADS, go to https://www.cads.org.nz/ CHDS nurses offer clinical assessment, treatment and support to people who are physically dependent on substances. Where needed, people are supported with short-term medicated detoxification in the community, or are supported toward an in-patient setting for treatment via their local CADS site.
CHDS works with people across the spectrum of severity of dependence, through to severe dependency, requiring Substance Abuse Compulsory Treatment Act (SACAT) assessment. CHDS nurses come from a range of backgrounds in healthcare, from new graduate to senior nurse level.

The right candidate will join our team and receive supportive orientation to our service, under the leadership of the clinical charge nurse, charge nurse manager and nurse lead, together with our clinical nurse educator and speciality nurses, in a multidisciplinary team setting of like-minded professionals who embrace diversity and share a commitment to working with people in partnership to achieve their goals.Your office base is in Point Chevalier and you will spend time in one or more of our regionally based clinic sites; the location can be negotiated.
