Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Whanganui DistrictOccupational TherapyPermanent, 20 hours per week Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleWe have the opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic and progressive team as a Community based Occupational Therapist within our Occupational Therapy team at Whanganui Hospital.We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to work in our Occupational Therapy team, this role is predominantly based in our community team, with input into post discharge community follow-up as appropriate.
This role is ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in Neurological conditions and rehabilitation. We have the current flexibility to look at part-time and full-time roles. If you are interested in a role with our team then please reach out and we can see if there is a role we can offer that suits your needs.About the Team/LocationWe have a small team of Occupational Therapists with a wide variety of experience and skills.Our service covers both inpatient wards and community-based referrals. There is a lot of demand for the skills of an Occupational Therapist, and our team works to support each other, prioritise those who need Occupational Therapy the most and ensure that our community are given the best care we are able to provide with the resources we have.
This job requires working closely with the other Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Therapy Assistants, as well as being a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management, leadership, adaptability and communication skills are essential for this role.The Occupational Therapy department is co-located with Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietitians, Social Work and Community Assessment & Rehab team.
We have a newly refurbished location with new clinician spaces including a large Occupational Therapy assessment bathroom, kitchen and general assessment room.You will be located on the Whanganui Campus. Whanganui is a great little progressive city with a friendly chilled vibe.
