Carpet Layer

A TO Z FLOORING LIMITED is a professional flooring company dedicated to providing high-quality carpet installation services. We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Carpet Layer to join our team.

Hourly rate: $25 to $30 depending on exprience

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure and mark installation areas based on customer requirements and floor plans.
• Prepare floor surfaces by removing existing coverings, cleaning, leveling, and applying adhesives as needed.
• Cut, fit, and install carpets using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Stretch and secure carpets using knee kickers and power stretchers to ensure a smooth, wrinkle-free finish.
• Join carpet sections with appropriate techniques, such as heat-sealing tape or sewing seams.
• Install carpet padding and underlayments for added comfort and durability.
• Trim excess carpet and finish edges around walls, doorways, and other fixtures.
• Inspect completed work to ensure high-quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements:

• A qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 or above in a relevant field.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in the construction field may substitute for the qualification.
• Experience in construction or flooring installation is preferred, with the ability to work on-site and follow building project requirements.
• Physical fitness and ability to handle tools, materials, and tasks commonly involved in construction environments.
