We are in urgent need of a machine operator in our horticulture business.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- You will be required to operate plant machinery i.e tractor and self-propelled plant to plough, sow, fertilize, cultivate and harvest crops.
- Lead and coordinate machine operations across various agricultural projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Train and mentor junior operators on safe and effective machinery operation, maintenance, and best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tractors and related equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Servicing plant and performing minor repairs.
- Collaborate with management to develop operational strategies and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment use, maintenance, and production metrics.
- The ideal candidate for this role must have at least 2 years industry relevant work experience or a relevant Level 4 qualification.
- Must have class 1 or equivalent driver’s licence.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Be able to follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Committed and reliable.
- Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong result-focused work ethic.
- Knowledge of machinery parts and operation.
- Must be available to work Monday-Friday, minimum 32 hours per week.
- Flexibility of weekend availability will be required depending on work.
- Eligible applicant will be paid between $25- $30 depending on experience or qualification.
