Exciting Opportunity

Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule, with the possibility of some Saturday work, for a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight.

As a Drainlayer / Water Retic, you will be integral to our civil contracting team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of drainage systems that ensure efficient water management. Your role will involve:

• Installation Expertise: Utilize your skills to install a variety of drainage systems, including stormwater, sewerage, and wastewater pipelines, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and local regulations.
• Excavation and Site Preparation: Operate excavators and other machinery to prepare sites for drainage installation, ensuring accurate grading and positioning of pipelines.
• Team Leadership: Lead a small team, guiding them in daily tasks, troubleshooting on-site issues, and ensuring high standards of work are met.
• Quality Control: Conduct inspections and tests on installed systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and develop effective solutions to maintain the integrity and efficiency of drainage systems.
• Maintenance and Repair: Carry out repairs and maintenance on existing drainage systems, ensuring longevity and effectiveness in water management.
• Safety Commitment: Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, adhering to all relevant guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities to liaise effectively with team members and clients.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Certified Drainlayer or Pipeline Construction & Maintenance Level 4.
• Familiarity with operating excavators is an advantage.
• A current NZ driver’s license (class 2 preferred) with WTR endorsements.
• A dependable work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
• Ability to lead a small team effectively.
• Capable of working unsupervised while also being a proactive team player.
