Assistant Manager / Estimator

Atomic Collision Centre is looking for someone to help manage our modern large panel and paint shop. We are growing but still want more opportunity for myself (the owner) to grow our customer base. This means more networking and time offsite for me.

I’m an old school person, who believes in hard work ethics, yes, you will have a bit of pressure in the role, yes, you may even have to hang around 10 minutes late to please one of our customers or finish something you started.
You will be managing customers, and a staff greater than10, so if you can’t listen and then help, plus delegate, then don’t read any further.
Also, if you’re too precious like so many today, you think sick days are an entitlement to have an extra few days off per year, you think you’re going to take an annual leave break without planning leave, again, read no further.
You may find all this to blunt, well maybe it is, but everyone that thinks this is probably not the person I’m looking for anyway.
I’m very fair and treat all staff with respect and all I ask is the same in return for the entire team.
I require a fantastic team member as we have a fantastic team here and don’t want that disrupted.

This role is suited to someone who has at least 5 years previous panel and paint leadership experience, but in saying this we would be keen to look at anyone who is a fast learner or has a background in other automotive industries. You must be great with people. Previous experience with a Panel shop estimating system is obviously a huge advantage as well.

We have a large shop, with one building containing two Spray booths and a Prep Bay and then another larger panel shop next door where we have all the plant and equipment required to maintain a good constant workflow.
We have a great customer base, and we do everything possible to respond to their needs asap.
So as I said, if this all seems a little blunt or you’re unsure if you could handle the everyday pressure of this trade, then don’t apply.
