NPBHS Hostel Cleaning Position
New Plymouth Boys' High School is seeking a new Cleaner and Laundry assistant to join our housekeeping team in Hatherly House, Our Boarding House which caters for 190 students. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our boarding students and be an essential part of our school community.
In this crucial position you will be assisting in the cleaning of all Hostel areas (external and internal) including, dormitories, common spaces, dining room, toilet(s), windows and a full spring clean as and when required (generally each term).There will be training in the Hostel laundry including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and assisting the boys laundry pick-up after school.
Hours of Work:30 hours per week generally worked between Monday and Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm. There is flexibility in hours and times to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
NB: There may be occasions, from time to time, where extra work is required in the term holidays. Hours may increase in response to workload.
Skills & Experience:- Previous experience in cleaning and/or laundry services is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Quality communication skills.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Physically competent to perform duties.
- Full, clean drivers license.
The remuneration for this position will be negotiated dependent on experience (Concurrent with the `Support Staff in Schools” collective agreement).
