Sales Assistant

We are on the lookout for a permanent full-time Retail Assistant to be part of our busy business located in Timaru, Caterbury region.

You will be assisting with the operation of the store during your shift and will provide excellent customer service. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with the payrate between $29.66 to $31.

• Controlling proper inventory levels through ordering of stock,
• daily inventory checks, assuring correct receiving and stocking of food supply.
• Follow training program to keep store staff informed and knowledgeable of store products, and train staff in proper customer relations skills and sales techniques in an effort to maintain a high quality of service to the public.
• Be competent in cash handling and aid in preparing daily sales reports, deposit preparation, change orders, and register set up and close out.
• Responsible for cash security; prepare daily bank deposit and match cash with daily sales summary.
• Coordinate staff requirement- training and monitoring all staff performance.
• Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as apparent or as assigned.
• Resolve customer doubts to ensure that best selections and promotions are soft sold.
• Suggest methods of improvement and bring about promotional ideas to increase sales
• Ensures prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines.
• Ensure compliance of all store operations to all applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for both customers and staff.

Requirements:

Need to be mature person and committed to hard work. Training will be provided.

Previous customer service experience is welcomed

We need people who are committed and turn up to work on time unless they have a reasonable excuse.

Pre-employed drug test and ministry of justice check required.
