About the role:We are currently recruiting for three Mind Health Practitioners who may be counsellors, HIPs, RN-Psych, DAAPNZ registered, Psychologists, Social Workers, or Occupational Therapists.These roles engage directly with individuals and their aiga and use talanoa and Pacific approaches to deliver mostly brief psychological/behavioural interventions.
This role extends and strengthens The Fono's integrated way of working across services.This role sits within psychology, psychiatry, health coach and navigators, ensuring seamless transition between roles can occur, so family's wellbeing needs can be met.

You will be motivated by the opportunity to significantly contribute to improving wellbeing for Pacific people through the delivery of effective distress support, interventions, skills, strategies and facilitating access to other services.
You will have:A current suitable qualification and membership acceptable to The Fono (e.g., Level 7 bachelor's degree in counselling.
/ SWRB Registered Social Worker / member New Zealand Association of Counsellors, member DAAPNZ, registered psychologist, RN).A deep understanding of Pacific culture and protocols and the ability to engage with individuals and family from a variety of backgrounds in New Zealand and the Pacific.A positive ‘can-do' attitude and going the extra mile to meet the wellbeing needs of clients and families.Energy to be part of and contribute to the ongoing development of this exciting development at The Fono and other ongoing Pacific community-driven innovations.How we can support you in the role:Access to a multi-disciplinary team able to support the whole person and their family including psychiatric, social and health stressors impacting on wellbeing.
