Heavy Diesel Mechanic
Our client is a well-regarded earthmoving company located in the Wellington/Manawatu regions, and they are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic. This is a permanent role and we are looking for a suitable applicant to work for this fantastic company.
About the role:
- Working in a well-known, kiwi owned, supportive, and reputable business.
- Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week normally worked from Monday to Friday. However you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
- $32-$35 per hour depending on experience
What you need to be successful in this role:
- You must have at least 2 years of relevant automotive and/or engine work experience. You must be able to work within the timeframe of the project and be a reliable member of the team.
- Motivated with a good team attitude
- A solutions person with a can-do approach
- Keen for some good hours
- The ability to work to high standards with a motivated attitude
- Knowing, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements, and company safety policies and procedures.
Duties Involve:
- Daily repairs and maintenance of the fleet and other equipment
- When required assist the wider workshop team and
- On occasion supervision and training of apprentices may be required
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A clean driver’s licence (class 2-essential, class 4-5 ideal)
- Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- A strong ability to get the job done and be a self-starter
- An ability to work independently and as part of an established team
- An excellent attendance record
- A sense of humour
