Your key role | To turanga matuaWhat does a Support Worker do?
You will be supporting clients with a range of everyday needs, guided by their individual care plan. Your tasks may include, but aren’t limited to, the following:
- Personal Care and Daily Living Assistance: You will assist with transfers, personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation.
- Medication: Medication Prompting and Mediation Administration
- Household Tasks: You will perform housekeeping duties including bed making, laundry, drying the shower, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the client you support.
- Shopping and Errands: You will assist with grocery shopping
- Bowel Management and Catheter Management
You will also play an important role in supporting clients with gentle, passive exercises that support their health and well-being.
Shifts are varied to provide consistent support and will include weekend work. The available shifts are:
- 32 Hours per week:
4 days midweek and 1 weekend day (Sunday)
- 20 Hours per week:
3 days midweek and 1 weekend day (Sunday)
- 10-16 Hours per week:
3 days midweek and 1 weekend day (Saturday)
During your first 6 weeks, your hours will progressively increase to meet your ideal hours specified above.

- Minimum Level 2 in Health and Wellbeing qualification or its equivalent from another country is beneficial but
- Full NZ Driver's License
- A reliable vehicle of your own
- A valid and current Basic First Aid Certificate is required.
- Candidates must be able to pass a Police Check or undergo vetting. To fast-track your application, simply request a copy of your recent Police Vetting Result from your current or past employer. This will help speed up your hiring process!
