We are currently looking for the Assistant Manager for our busy liquor store located in Pukekohe, Auckland.

Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth running of the day to day operations of the store, in the absence of the Manager.

Payrate: $ 29.70 to $ 32.00 (per hour)

Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Assist the Manager to determine and maintain the stock level to ensure the store is well stocked at all times
• Assist the Manager to identify the need and demand of present and future customers and determine the product mix accordingly
• Assist the Manager to formulate the purchasing policies to purchase inventory by researching emerging products. To liaise with different suppliers for ordering and negotiate the best deals
• To ensure the store operations are in accordance with the sale and supply alcohol act
• Ensure all staff are aware of their obligations pursuant to the Sale of Liquor Act and the company’s liquor license is not jeopardized – this includes patron conduct and intoxication.
• Assist the Manager to prepare sales reports by analysing and categorizing sales information
• Identifying and investigating customer complaints and service suggestions
• To authorize the clearance and promotional sales in the absence of Manager
• To assist the Manager in setting prices of all the products by having right profit margins
• To assist the Manager to maintain record of the financial transactions and responsible for the daily banking in the absence of Manager
• Set the high service standards and ensure they are followed and met all the time
• Assisting the Manager to develop the different marketing strategies to maximize the sales and to reduce the expire stock
• Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers.
• To assist the Manager to recruit and hire new staff as per the requirements
• To ensure the staff is well trained and organize the training sessions on timely basis to keep them updated
• Help customers by providing information; answering questions; obtaining merchandise requested; completing payment transactions; preparing merchandise for delivery.
• Maintains a safe and clean store environment by developing and publishing evacuation routes; determining and documenting locations of potentially dangerous materials and chemicals.
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
• Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

A successful candidate must have:

• Tertiary qualification OR One year of management experience
• Must be of 18 years of age or above
• Licence Controller Qualification
• Knows how to control stock in budget and generate revenue
• Time management skills and ability to work under pressure
• Physically fit as some heavy lifting required
• Weekend and Public Holiday availability
• No Criminal Record
