About the Role

As our Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide general adult community based clinical care to Whangarei and may include our rural based clinics. You will have the opportunity to work with specific groups of clients such as those that require intensive community treatment or crisis work.

You will join a multidisciplinary team in both our Mental Health and Addiction Services where you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership to the wider team.

We provide on-going professional support including continued medical education, professional development and peer review. You will have active participation in a growing service that has the opportunity to be at the forefront of both primary and secondary care innovations.

About you

To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in a Psychiatry Vocational scope of practice.

FRANZCP and/ or post graduate qualifications are desirable, however happy to hear from those near completion of their studies etc.

If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.
