- cluster.Mō te tūnga | About the roleOur Intellectually Disabled Persons Health Community Teamsare looking for a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist who willplay an integral role within our service working across two of our communityteams: Psychiatric Service for Adults with Intellectual Disability (PSAID) andour Intellectual Disability Liaison team (IDL).

- re looking for a NZ Registered Occupational Therapist towork alongside other specialist staff and NGO providers to craft packages ofcare that enable consumers to develop crucial skills to manage their illnessand to enable them to be more present and participate more meaningfully in thecommunity.The leadership component would provide clinical OccupationalTherapy leadership and expertise across the Intellectual Disability andForensic Specialist Services.This is a full time, permanent position but is split betweenPSAID Outpatients (0.5 FTE), and IDL (0.5 FTE).

- ll be based at our Hillmorton Hospital campus but will berequired to travel within Canterbury (primarily Christchurch).Pehea | About YouIn this role, you will be responsible for:Assessing new admissions and preparing reports as required;Carrying out comprehensive Occupational Therapy and functional assessments including sensory assessments;Liaising and consulting with residential providers to carry out therapeutic programmes;Working with consumers from diverse social and cultural backgrounds and bringing your enthusiasm and passion to achieve the best outcome for your consumers.Leadership: provide robust clinical support and development of top of scope practice for the Occupational Therapist in the cluster; Consultation into service development and delivery; Assistance with supervision, success & development conversations, training and mentoring.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceExcellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage a varying caseload;As an effective communicator you will have a positive, engaging and solution focussed attitude to your work;Sound computer and technological literacy is advantageous;NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with current Annual Practicing Certificate (essential);Proven experience working with consumers with Intellectual Disabilities is highly desired;As some community work is required in this position with theneed to transport passengers, a full class driver
