About the Role
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will contribute as an effective member of the Te Tai Tokerau Pathology Services team, to provide a quality safe pathology service that ensures timely, accurate results to pathology laboratory users. Throughout the day, you will participate in the receipt, documentation, registration, processing and reporting of all specimens, including those referred to other laboratories, as required by authorised policies and protocols.

Kaitaia Hospital is Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau's northernmost hospital. It is a general hospital serving a widely scattered population, and any visitors to the district. The 28-bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and paediatric ward with all the supporting services, and also provides a substantial community health service.
The Kaitaia Hospital Laboratory is composed of 13 staff members and is located on the first floor (level 2) of the main block, above the ED and provides a 24-hour service.

About you- New Zealand Registered and licenced Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Work experience in a Medical Laboratory
- Work experience with Laboratory Information system
- Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team member.
