Are you an experienced hospitality and food service superstar looking for a part-time Cook position?

We are looking for a hands-on Cook to support and run the cooking service in one of our in-house kitchens at an aged care site in Henderson. Ons Dorp is a Retirement and Lifestyle Village with a Dutch flavour that caters for the care centre and village residents.

The successful candidates will need to be compassionate and warm, and able to work with respect for and in support of the home’s mission and values.

This role is responsible for running the food service for all residents two days per week and reports to a Site Manager. You will be a hands-on Cook and love preparing, cooking and serving wholesome meals which are freshly produced every day.

You thrive on the day-to-day running of the kitchen and making our client and residents smile!

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a passion for food
  • experience preparing, cooking and serving wholesome food
  • an interest in baking
  • an understanding of dietary requirements and food control regulations
  • experience managing product quality standards and service delivery
  • excellent communication skills and a flexible/can-do, committed attitude
  • ability to work unsupervised

To be successful in this role you need to have a friendly disposition and enjoy interacting with Rest home staff and residents on a regular basis. This position is a pivotal part of our team and requires a cook with relevant rest home experience, or a relevant qualification either in culinary arts or professional cookery with 1-2 years‘ relevant experience.
