Our team provides a range of inpatient, outpatient and community based health services for the community.The rotational role has opportunities for learning within inpatients medicine/ surgical/ AT&R outpatients, MSK & community care.
There may also be opportunities to travel to other locations throughout the West Coast.
Within the wider AH team, we have a small team of Physiotherapists who work together to provide a generalist service.
This role will give you the opportunity to further your experience working across a wide range of specialties and advance your practical skills.
These clinical opportunities will develop your assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning skills to a very high level.
You will be supported by the Clinical Lead Physiotherapy and be given clinical supervision, mentoring and professional supprt.
We also offer an Allied Health new-graduate programme.
This is a permanent full time opportunity working 40 hours per week.
The required days of the role are Monday to Friday 0800-1630 withoccasional weekend work, mostly Saturdays.The key responsibilities of this role are:Assessment and treatment of Surgical, Medical and AT&R inpatients with appropriate goal setting and outcome measuresSupport transition from inpatients into communityWork as an integral part of the inpatient inter-disciplinary teamSupport the outpatient and community team as necessaryLiaising with all appropriate health professionals and other agencies to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for our patientsProviding education for the families/whānau and carers of our patients as necessaryAbout the West CoastWe areunique and like no other in New Zealand with a close-knit community where yourwork will make a real difference.We willhelp you grow as a leader in rural health with a continued focus on your careerdevelopmentWecontinue to break new ground and shape our health system to wrap care aroundpatients in their communities.The West Coast of the South Island is a rugged, isolated and beautiful part of Aotearoa New Zealand.
