Estimator - Palmerston North

About the Role
We’re seeking an Estimator to join the team. You will be based in Manawatu-Whanganui region but may also be required to work in Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Otago, Canterbury and Southland.
Reporting to the Regional Estimating Manager, you will secure work by pricing tenders accurately to maximise profit for the business along with meeting client expectations on price, programme and quality.
You’ll work autonomously on tenders, typically large and/or complex, varying from $5M to $50M. Depending on the complexity you may also be involved in other aspects of the bid including planning and methodology. .
Often you will be involved in preparation of multiple tenders at any one time – this role offers lots of variety.
This is a full time permanent role working 40-52 hours per week.
About You- Engineering certification or degree preferred
- 10+ years experience in either estimating or quantity surveying
- Experience in a heavy civil construction; structures, foundations, marines, wharfs, bridges and vertical construction
- Experience in complex and/or large scale projects
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Ability to work proactively within a high performing new business team
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to use Candy software for estimating
- Ability to develop solutions to problems
