We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Contracts Manager to join a roading, maintenance, and construction contractor operating in the Palmerston North and Manawatu regions. This is a dynamic, multi-functional role where you will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing contracts, handling the technical aspects of construction management, and managing financial operations, all while driving performance and fostering growth through your strong leadership skills.

We are looking for an Civil Engineer, Project Manager, or Contracts Manager with proven experience and success in roading, maintenance and civil construction. Other key attributes required include:

• Previous experience managing project financials and budgets, with reporting on P&L
• Working knowledge of construction contracts such as NZS 3910
• Knowledge and experience with RAMM systems
• Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on mentoring and staff development
• A solid understanding of civil construction methods, systems, and techniques
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• A team player with a willingness to collaborate across the wider management team
• A relevant industry qualification, such as Civil Engineering, is preferred, or proven experience in the trade
• Strong client relationship and contractual negotiation skills
