Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Foreman Carpenter to join our residential construction team. The ideal candidate will have a NZ building qualification, strong background in carpentry, manage staff directly under you and onsite subcontractors as required, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential.

Core Objectives:

• Follow specifications and building plans
• Be proactive in recognising any issues, address and discuss with the Project Manager to find a proactive solution
• Understand your Build programme and deadlines
• Have a good working relationship with all suppliers and subcontractors, creating a respectful environment and ensuring the efficient daily running of them during the build process
• Ensure that all workers under your control understand and abide by the Worksite Management Plan for your site/s
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and moulding
• Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes
• Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
• Repair existing structures and fittings. Concrete grinding and applying epoxy grouts, injecting epoxy resins. And applying sealant
• Construct, erect, install, remove and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials

• National Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4)
• Clean driving licence
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Plan reading, mathematics, building code requirements, health and safety, first-aid practices
