OPTI manages, delivers, and governs the investment plan, ensuring value for money while achieving strategic outcomes.OPTI also drives efficiencies by proactively identifying and implementing technology and process improvements to meet evolving service expectations and supports the key technology toolset utilised within Operations.The teamOur Operations Process and Technology Improvement (OPTI) group supports the Operations division to deliver solutions required to manage the real time power system and prepare for an increasingly electrified future.

They are working to optimise planning and investment decisions across key tools and processes (including SCADA applications, market systems, real time systems, and real time asset management technologies) utilised by our control rooms and other areas of Transpower.

The OPTI Investment Delivery team manages the formal joint programme relationship with the Electricity Authority and works collaboratively with our Information Services Technology (IST) division to ensure the successful delivery of the Operations work programme.

Investment Delivery provides the governance structure to outcomes are delivered and seeks to maximise the resources and funding available, understanding technology dependencies and minimising change impacts, to deliver best value for money from investment undertaken by Operations.

The opportunity
  • 12 months fixed termIn this new role, you'll support the Investment Delivery Manager by generating actionable insights to optimise portfolio performance and drive strategic decision-making.

You'll enjoy a wide variety of work from defining, monitoring, and analysing investment portfolios metrics to ensuring the delivery of the Operations portfolio is at an optimal level to meet business objectives and goals.You'll ensure data quality, provide resource management reporting, and handle financial management tasks.

Supporting the delivery of end products, you'll facilitate financial, KPI, and metrics reporting, and assist project managers with reporting tools.

Your astute analysis skills will ensure delivery performance for both agile and waterfall methodologies, by tracking project expenditure, and updating financial workbooks.Its meaningful and dynamic work, as part of a collaborative team, in a 24/7 operational environment that's critical to Aotearoa!What will you bring?Exceptional people skills, and the ability to work in the detail but think systemically.

You understand the importance of portfolio management and analysis including the benefit of creating visual representation of data to support decision-making and strategic planning.To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to effectively convey findings and recommendations to a wide audience.

Experience in project or programme coordination including utilising MS Project.
Strong problem-solving and analysis skills and ability to identify and resolve issues that may affect portfolio performance.
