About the role:Join our Branch Accountant team at Place Makers. You will be part of our wider Finance & Commercial team. Managing the accounting needs of 6 branches in Dunedin & Invercargill.
You will be instrumental in providing an operational accounting & support function to ensure that all financial and planning obligations are met. Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly tasks are completed on a timely basis all while building strong stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities include:
- Review & Complete daily bank reconciliations
- P&L and Balance Sheet reviews with Branch Operators
- Work with the sales team to ensure accuracy of margin reporting and the enhancement of margin
- Preparation of Monthly and Year-End reports, both internal and external
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset register
- Assist with Capex requests
- Annual Budget reviews
- Monitoring and analysis of branch performance against targets
This is an 8-month FIX TERM CONTRACT. Offering 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, based full time in our Support office in Penrose.
About you:We are looking for an Accountant who has a real passion for what you do. With strong problem-solving capability and exceptional attention to detail, you have a can-do attitude, your tech savvy and have gained experience within both financial and management accounting processes.
Key attributes we’re looking for:
- Be a Chartered Account or be in the process
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in accounting
- Exposure to accounting packages/ERP systems, of which JDE would be an advantage
- Ideally have experience in an Inventory management business – Retail, warehousing, stock
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong stake holder relationships in remote locations
