About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services to Ministry staff across Aotearoa.
You'll lead the resolution of complex payroll queries, manage operational processes like IR334 and payday filing, and provide trusted advice to stakeholders. Your role will be central to maintaining data integrity, legislative compliance, and fostering a strong customer service culture.
You will also support the wider payroll team through coaching and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Salary range: $74,015 - $89,547 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake To be successful in this role, you'll have: Extensive operational payroll experience in a large and complex organisation Deep understanding of NZ payroll legislation and employment agreements Proven experience managing payroll in high-volume environments Strong systems knowledge, ideally including SuccessFactors A customer-centric approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills Experience mentoring and supporting others in best practice payroll delivery The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
