ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with the loading, and unloading of vessels, and ensuring cargo is loaded and discharged efficiently and safely. The successful candidate will be part of a highly-skilled team working on the wharf or on the vessel with core skills including operating a ship's crane, excavator, forklift and digger.You will also hold a current full driver's licence, have a good level of literacy and physical fitness, as well as the ability to work at heights. We are searching for an ambitious individual with exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow instructions about how to work in and around cargoes.
This is a permanent role with guaranteed hours providing opportunity for increased hours as you progress in your role. The Otago operation is a 24/7 business encompassing 12-hour day and night shifts inclusive of weekends and public holidays.
Out port availability to travel throughout NZ will be required from time to time if any 3i business unit requires labour.
Prior stevedoring or mobile plant experience including digger driving, lifting equipment and working with log cargoes is desirable, however we also support a rigorous training program for the right candidate.

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidate must hold a full NZ Driver's Licence Class 1, and be prepared to undertake training to attain Class 2 with WT&R's. All successful candidates must also under-go and pass a pre-employment medical and D&A assessment, and must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
