Position Overview:We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Dairy Herd Manager to join our team. This role involves working closely with a skilled and friendly team, with a focus on the day-to-day management of the herd. As part of a split calving system, you’ll be helping to care for and manage cows through different stages of their lactation, ensuring the health and wellbeing of the herd is maintained to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Milking and herd management operations.Animal health monitoring.
Help with calving.
Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the farm, including milking sheds and equipment.
Pasture management and feeding routines.
Work collaboratively with other farm staff and the wider team to achieve the goals that we all have.
Key Skills & Attributes: Previous experience in dairy farming is needed.
Passion for animal care and farming practices.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Flexibility and adaptability in the role, as duties may vary throughout the year.
