Motor Mechanic

This job is required to perform:

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle’s condition, necessary repairs, and maintenance options.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection.
• Inspect vehicle systems and components to identify potential issues and provide preventative maintenance recommendations.
• Replace or repair faulty parts and components, such as brakes, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
• Liaise with supplier to order special parts and components when necessary.
• Test and calibrate mechanical components following repairs to ensure they operate correctly and meet performance standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, including oil changes, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, and transmission repairs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Stay updated on the latest automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques.

Job requirement:

• At least three years’ experience working as a Motor Mechanic; OR
• A New Zealand qualification in automotive engineering field
• Good customer communication skills
• Be physically fit
• Ability to work well in a team
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new repair techniques
