About the Role

As an Equipment Product Developer, you’ll ensure every product that hits the shelves lives up to Macpac’s legendary standards – designed with purpose, built for performance, and ready for the elements. You’ll translate design intent into reality by creating accurate specifications, testing rigorously, and staying ahead of innovation in materials and construction.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Bringing new ideas to life by researching and applying the latest construction techniques and materials
  • Developing technical products that are functional, durable, and built to go the distance
  • Ensuring compliance and testing standards are met across all outdoor equipment
  • Collaborating closely with designers and suppliers to deliver on Macpac’s product vision
  • Creating detailed tech packs and specifications that bring clarity and precision to development
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years' experience in apparel or hard materials equipment product development
  • Strong articulation of design concepts and product purpose
  • Knowledge of construction, fit, and function – with a keen eye for detail
  • Collaborative approach with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A passion for the outdoors and a desire to work with gear that inspires adventure
  • A curious mindset and openness to learning new technical categories
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in product design, fashion, or similar – or equivalent experience
