The job involves the following tasks and duties:
- Preparing and cooking all the dishes offered by the restaurant
- Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures to the kitchen staffs
- Providing training of cooking technique or health regulation, if necessary
- Supervising performance of kitchen staffs
- Improving dishes and developing chef’s menu
- Managing the overall operation of kitchen
- Ordering supplies and stocks
- Estimating food and labour cost and assisting in cost control
- Ensuring the kitchen’s operation complies with hygiene and safety regulations.
You should also have good interpersonal skills in order to coordinate duties in the kitchen.
