NZCL is looking for energetic and motivated people to support people in their own home.

We are looking for permanent, full-time/part-time Support Workers to help the people we support in Te Awamutu residential services.

What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

  • A desire to support our people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes
  • Prior experience is not essential as full training is provided
  • Full driver's licence and confidence to safely transport passengers in our disability vans (training provided)
  • Flexibility to work rostered overnight shifts and rostered weekend shifts
  • Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
