  • About the roleThe purpose of this position is to provides Occupational Therapy assessment and planned intervention within a fast-paced acute inpatient wards at Dunedin Hospital to facilitate safe patient discharge back into the community.You will work in one or more of the following areas:CardiorespiratoryGeneral surgeryAcute Orthopaedics and NeurosciencesMedical and Acute StrokeIntensive Care Unit (ICU)This role will be primarily covering 7th and 8th floors.As an occupational therapist you will have sound occupational therapy knowledge and skills, be a team player with excellent communication skills and work cohesively as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).You will be responsible for assessing the client's occupational performance needs and assisting in their journey through the hospital.
You will be able to think on your feet, be experienced at working under pressure and be able to multi-task.
You will be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients and within the interdisciplinary team and a changing health environment.View position descriptionMōu ake
  • About youThe successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a proactive approach towards learning.

Self-motivation, a flexible attitude, and a keen drive to work as an integral team member are essential.You will provide assessment and treatment for a variety of patients on a one-to-one basis and or in a group setting, working alongside teams of health-care professionals to deliver quality patient care and service delivery.To be considered for this role you will need to have a minimum of two years clinical experience, be registered with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate.

-Salary rangeThis role belongs to the PSA/DHB Allied, Public Health and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 3 ($88,627 p.a.) to Step 10 ($116,390 p.a)Rā mōnehu
