Chefs Wanted

Lotus Cafe is looking for chefs to join the team. Permanent position, with a rotating roster, Applicant must have at least Level 4/5 cookery equivalent to NZQA, or international degree in cookery or at least 2 years' experience in the same position

Applicants must be able to work public holidays and weekends. Pay will be between $28 and $35 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing:

Cooking and examining quality of the food, regulating the temperatures of grill and other cooking equipment.

Ensuring food is cooked and prepared in high quality to meet the customers' expectations and maintaining the consistency in the quality of food.

Ensuring that the food is stored at the required temperature.

Preparing food to meet special diet requirements.

Managing hygiene and safety standards in accordance with New Zealand health and safety requirements.

Planning menus and estimate food requirements with the help of the other kitchen staff.

Organizing and supervising the work of the other kitchen members.

Carrying out effective training programs for junior kitchen staff.

Handling customer complaints in relation to food quality.

Ordering from the supplier, receiving the supplies and keeping the records accordingly.

Coordinate and participate in food prep, including ingredient sourcing, seasoning, and cooking.

Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing food costs, minimizing waste while maintaining quality.
