About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face patient clinics, providing comprehensive assessments and management plans for a range of cardiac conditions.
- Participate in echo reading sessions, contributing to the diagnostic and treatment processes for patients.
- Offer support to nursing staff and collaborate with general medicine teams in managing complex cardiac cases.
- Provide in-hospital consultations, addressing acute and ongoing cardiac needs.
- Engage with Waikato, the tertiary center, for service development and support, ensuring best practices are upheld in our region.
- Opportunity to maintain interventional skills by performing procedures at a partnering hospital, should you be an interventional cardiologist.
Work Hours:
- 40 hours per week
- No on-call or weekend responsibilities

About you
To be eligible for the role you will have:
- Medical degree and board certification in Cardiology.
- Experience in managing complex cardiac cases, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- A desire to work in a community-focused environment and address the specific health needs of the population.
