Team Leader
Wildflowers are on the search for a new team leader to join our preschool room.
Skills and Experience- Good self-regulation in stressful and busy situations.
- Good organisation and time management.
- Good practice in keeping the working environment clean and tidy.
- Excellent training and experience in early childhood development, care and education.
- Experience in continually looking for improvements, both internally and externally.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Discover operating system.
- Confident in confrontations and courageous conversations.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Team Leader will also provide leadership support to the Centre Manager and to be able to deputise in their absence.
Team Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Being responsible for organising Centre teams for the day, including which areas people will work in and when breaks occur.
- Taking responsibility for leadership of curriculum and planning, including monitoring of output from non-contact times.
- Being responsible for the development of a cohesive spirit within the team where team members feel supported and appreciated.
- Assistance in maintaining enrolment and showing new parents around the Centre, in conjunction with the Centre Manager
- Growing teacher capability by leading the development of teacher practice within the team in a respectful manner, including by seeking senior support as necessary
- Sharing responsibility by delegating responsibilities within the team such that others feel empowered and continue to grow their own practice.
- To support a lead on their teams Professional growth Cycles in conjunction with the Centre Manager.
Wildflowers ELC is a beautiful new purpose-built early learning centre offering childcare to 54 children located in The Meadows, Richmond. We have been open since May 2023 and are thriving in the community.
We focus on new approaches in raising our tamariki including a mindfulness programme to assist with the daily handling of social and emotional competences which help strengthen the mental health of these young individuals. We offer a calm, natural environment both inside and out; including a sensory room, three separate rooms to suit age groups ranging from 3 months to 5 years, a natural learning garden where children learn about growing vegetables and nature plus so much more…
