About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and passionate Medical Laboratory Scientist with the right knowledge and experience to join our team as Technical Specialist of Coagulation. This role will be crucial to laboratory operations leading and guiding our service and staff to ensure accurate analysis and interpretation of coagulation testing.
Technical troubleshooting, development opportunities and maintaining compliance with laboratory standards will be a focus. Upcoming laboratory projects including analyser upgrades and IT system replacement will provide a challenging and varied work environment.

About the Team The Haematology Lab team consists of dedicated pathologists, scientists and technicians who work in a modern, well equipped laboratory within a busy tertiary hospital environment. We provide a range of routine and specialist testing to support the diagnosis and treatment of thrombotic and haemorrhagic disorders as well as quantitative analysis of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs).
The lab services the wider Te Manawa Taki district including supporting our four satellite laboratories located around the region. About Hamilton Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts.
With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy.
