Diesel Mechanic

We are looking for a permanent full-time diesel mechanic for our client, you will be required to work onsite in Auckland, withweekly guaranteed hours of at least 40 and a gross pay rate between $35 and $45 per hour.

In this role you will be part of a successful team, work with the latest automotiveequipment in both field service and workshop roles. Each job different from the last asyou will be working on a variety of machinery, this role will keep you on your toes.

You will be required to undertake the following job duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel and electrical systems•
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults or issues with diesel engines, electrical wiring, parts, and equipment.
  • Install and test new or upgraded electrical components and systems.
  • Provide estimates of time and cost for repairs or services.
  • Keep accurate records of work done and parts used.
  • Follow safety regulations and company standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advances.

Experience requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience or more experiences of servicing Heavy trucks and Heavyequipment is preferred.
  • Trade Qualification or extensive experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic software and tools.
  • Knowledgeable of diesel and electrical systems, components, and parts.
  • Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Able to work with hand tools and power tools.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and under various weather conditions.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
