We have a passionate and hardworking team and are looking for a similar minded baker to join us in a full-time position, with the hours being a minimum of 40hrs per week.
We proudly craft our breads and pastry from scratch (no premixes here) with an emphasis on freshly made products.

New World Matamata is central to the Upper North Island, with beaches, lakes, mountain ranges and international airport just 45 minutes to 1.5 hours away, including Mt Maunganui, Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton, the Coromandel Peninsula and Auckland.
Desired Qualifications, Experience & Key Tasks:- 2 years of previous baking experience or Bakery Qualification Level 3 or higher, on onshore or offshore qualification would be an advantage but not mandatory
- Previous food retail, fresh food or supermarket retail experience would be an advantage
- Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bread products
- Baking, icing, and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as for display
- Preparing and baking pastries including appropriate fillings
- Producing other bakery specific products as required i.e. scones, muffins, biscuits, slices fresh cream products, pies, sausage rolls, pizzas, etc.
- Receive inwards goods ensuring products meet Food Safety requirements
- Maintain daily production schedule and minimise wastage
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and able to effectively resolve all customer related enquiries
- Healthy and physically fit to work in a fast-paced bakery team
- Reliable team player able to work early starts and/or late finishes with flexibility to work non rostered days as required
