Field Service Technician (Field Based)

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Auckland team. Our Field Service Technicians are responsible for the technical support and safe operation of the world’s leading distracted driving technology solution. This role involves assembling, deploying and supporting a range of fixed and mobile platforms that integrate radar & camera hardware with operating systems and communications software.Our technologies involve equipment installed at the roadside, real-time sensor and camera interfaces, decision algorithms, machine learning based detection algorithms, file transfer and monitoring systems, web user interfaces and cloud-based infrastructure.
Additionally, the position requires the safe towing, deployment, and operation of enforcement trailers, which includes conducting risk assessments, managing safety protocols, and ensuring trailer equipment is properly maintained. This role requires a high level of mechanical and electrical awareness for various maintenance tasks and the ability to work in flexible, dynamic environments, including interacting with the public and utilising electronic applications for reporting and monitoring systems.
Responsibilities- Deployment of Acusensus’ solutions to the client’s schedule
- Maintaining the performance of the delivery of services to meet and exceed our customer’s needs
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities to our hardware and fleet
- New site surveys to assess the suitability of locations for the deployment of the solution
- Responding to and actioning client requests and inquiries
- Tertiary qualification or trade in either electronic, electrical or computer related fields
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar technical role with demonstrated fault finding and repair skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
- Adaptable and willingness to solve problems without having all the information
- Must be comfortable with remote roadside fieldwork, including working at heights
- Availability for after-hours on-call roster or occasional evenings and weekends as required
- Availability to travel to regional locations for scheduled periods for enforcement trailer deployments
- Flexibility to travel at short notice on occasion, either regionally, nationally or internationally
- Full driver’s license, including the ability to tow and reverse heavy trailers
- Ability to assess impact of incoming requests and prioritise them in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
