We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Officer to join our Central Insolvency Operations (CIO) team within the Insolvency and Trustee Service (ITS).
In this pivotal role, you'll provide critical technical expertise on personal insolvency solutions and liquidations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
You'll also discharge the statutory functions of the Deputy Assignee, supporting fair, transparent, and balanced decision-making that upholds public confidence in our insolvency system.

What you will do: Advise CIO teams on the administration of personal insolvencies and liquidations in line with relevant legislation Make informed, independent decisions that balance the interests of debtors, creditors, and the public Ensure all work meets strict ISO audit and internal control requirements, policies and procedures Assess the complexity of company liquidations and escalate appropriately Apply knowledge of the Criminal Proceeds Recovery Act 2009 to deal with matters that involve administration of cash assets.

  • Skills and Experience Required Extensive experience as a Senior Insolvency Examiner or equivalent A solid understanding and practical application of insolvency legislation Strong commercial, operational and statutory knowledge of Official Assignee functions Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Proven planning and organisational capabilities including workflow management under pressure.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with the ITS trust accounting system A commitment to integrity, fairness and public service excellence Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
