Production Manager

It's purpose-built processing facility ensures all seed is cleaned and treated to realise its optimum purity and germination. It operates a full supply chain service of processing, certification, storage, distribution and merchant networks.
Overview:We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Production Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the production schedule to meet demand while maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires excellent coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling and Efficiency:- Develop and manage the production schedule to meet demand while ensuring production efficiency, meeting set production targets.
- Allocate staff resources according to production needs.
- Selecting the correct equipment and machine setup to suit the seed type to maximise purity balanced with acceptable dressing loss.
- Coordinate the certification process for seed lines, including ordering labels, managing MAF references, testing/sampling, and ensuring compliance with destination country requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation.
- Ensure that seed cleaning is performed efficiently and meets quality specifications.
- Maintaining a quality control assurance register.
- Order necessary production materials based on the schedule and current stock levels.
- Coordinate with growers and merchants regarding seed line deliveries, dressing requirements and manage the results of seed cleaning, addressing any issues that arise.
- Communication is a key deliverable for this role.
- Process staff timesheets.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and building a proud team culture.
- Conduct regular toolbox meetings and ensure adherence to health and safety policies.
- A clean, tidy, and safe workplace.
- Monitoring gear/asset performance optimisation, ensuring general maintenance and preventative maintenance.
- Arrange for maintenance and repairs of plant and machinery as needed.
- Reports to the General Manager.
- Works closely with the General Manager, finance and administration team.
- Previous experience in production coordination, the seed industry, or a similar role would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
- Knowledge of seed certification processes and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a production environment.
This position involves working in both office and production environments. The candidate should be prepared to manage physical tasks and may be required to work outside of regular business hours to meet production deadlines.
