Mould Builder

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic fibreglass technician with experience in Mould building to join our team in Hamilton. You will play a key role in bringing to life our pool shapes by building the moulds to the required specifications.
You will be part of a team dedicated to driving business performance and future growth and be part of a business that is experiencing exciting change while working with an expanding multi-national company.
Your day will involve:- Studying plans and specifications to prepare templates and scale plans for fabrication.
- Build out mould using layers of fibreglass to form pools shape, ensuring correct thickness
- Remove any excess material to ensure smooth finish and correct shaping
- Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by measuring with rulers or micrometres, by checking them visually, or by tapping them to detect bubbles or dead spots.
- Repair any imperfections in the mould surface to ensure it is ready for final gel coat layer
- Applying the gel coat finish to ensure it is ready for use
- Assembling and installing components.
- Driving safety and efficiency in all tasks.
- Contributing to new ideas and to the team.
- Experience in mould building or pattern making
- Able to interpret plans/specifications to build templates/moulds
- Previous experience in spraying fibreglass/Gel coat (Desirable)
- Understanding of the fibreglass industry
- Problem-solving skills, demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with a sense of urgency
