Sous Chef- Northern Tavern and Saucy Chef Restaurant
About the Role:
The Northern Tavern and Saucy Chef Restaurant are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support our Head Chef. This is a hands on role that will include assisting our Head Chef to develop and lead our kitchen team. You will also be instrumental in our menu design and work closely with the kitchen team to ensure our Saucy Chef Restaurant moves with the culinary times while maintaining and developing our bar food to keep with modern trends.As Sous Chef, running a smooth and efficient kitchen will be second nature to you, from food prep and service to assisting the Head Chef in managing stock, training, and rostering. Cleanliness, health & safety, and compliance will be part of your daily routine.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar senior role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing needs.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and inspiring a team.
- Creativity and innovation in developing menus.
- Strong focus on cost control, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing challenges in a dynamic kitchen environment.
